Queer Eye production staff are under fire once again before the Season 8 premiere, as Bobby Berk has left the show. Here is everything you need to know about what the fans are saying.

Fab Five’s Bobby Berk announced his exit from the show around the same time Queer Eye Season 8 was announced. Bobby revealed his reason for leaving the reality show which was that he wanted to focus on other projects.

After Bobby’s announcement rumors spread across social media networks trying to find some other reasons he might have left. Fans questioned if the Designer left after having a falling out with co-star Tan France.

Queer Eye viewers also expressed that they thought the ‘show dropped in quality’ after Season 5. And after news of a series of incidents with the Queer Eye Season 8 production, fans speculated that there surely was a deeper reason for Bobby Berk’s exit.

Queer Eye fans now think Bobby and Tan’s drama was staged

There was a security threat during the production of Queer Eye Season 8 which led to the production team spending some extra budget on ensuring cast safety. Usually, Queer Eye seasons have seven episodes but this time due to budget cuts only six episodes were produced.

Along with that, it’s speculated that the Fab Five were paid less than their usual pay. The fans shared on Reddit that it made sense if Bobby left after all of the pay cut drama.

One fan commented: “We get put in danger because of subpar security, then you cut our pay on top of that? I’d be fuming.”

Yet another agreed and said: “Sounds like they paid for the security out of crew’s pockets.”

Viewers questioned the production team’s competency and asked why didn’t they include proper security in the budget in the first place. One fan wrote, “They already pay crew less than any show I’ve ever worked on because they know we all just want to be a part of something good for once and know we will take the lower pay. It’s disgusting.”

A fan further expressed that the Tan and Bobby drama could’ve been staged for distraction, so the higher-ups could get away without being held accountable.

The fan said, “Honestly this just makes me feel even more confident in the theory that the drama with Bobby and Tan is way less extreme than it’s been made out to be, but that producers want it played up for publicity and to distract from the real reason for Bobby leaving. Which, now, I believe was because of safety and pay.”

Currently, all seven seasons of the show are available to stream on Netflix, and the next season is scheduled to air on January 24.
