Late in 2023, The Pokemon Company deployed a Trading Card Game expansion inspired by Scarlet & Violet – 151. To the delight of collectors around the world, the expansion packs in well over 100 creatures from the game’s Kanto region, including the likes of Alakazam, Dragonair, and Poliwhirl.
Retailers such as Amazon and Walmart carry the card packs in question; players have even found worthwhile bundles in Pokemon vending machines.
Understandably, some fans have gone the extra mile to purchase the Japanese set for the differing card designs. One person, in particular, thinks they pulled the “prettiest” card in the collection.
Pokemon TCG player calls this Poliwhirl the best 151 pull
Reddit user ProfStonepine shared a photo of their Poliwhirl from TCG’s 151 pack. It’s a stunning card, with the Redditor deeming it the “prettiest card from 151.”
The card specifically comes from the Japanese set and features a design by popular TCG artist Gemi. Notably, it’s the colors that set it apart, as well as the water ripple effects that perfectly reflect Poliwhirl’s iconic look. Check it out in the post linked below:
“Absolutely 100% agree! Such a gorgeous card!!” someone wrote in response to the Reddit post. Another person who said they have the same Pokemon TCG 151 card wrote, “I couldn’t agree more. I have an extended art case for this card and it’s perfect. It’s on my fridge so I see it every day lol.”
Further down the thread, one user noted this specific Poliwhirl makes them want to get back into collecting Pokemon cards. “Fook it! That’s it lol I’m gonna start collecting Pokemon cards again! That card is double gorgeous, gratz on the pull!”
Others chimed in with the 151 cards that they feel also deserve a bit more love. For instance, one person brought up a Psyduck: “It’s a toss-up for me I think the Psyduck is so great too. The vibes.” Another fan added, “The dragonair is wicked underrated too.”
Evidently, Pokemon TCG’s Scarlet and Violet 151 collection features several fan-favorite cards.
