Pokemon TCG player shares “phenomenal” PSA10 graded Error card
The Pokemon Company / CanvaOne Pokemon TCG collector showed off a strange card error they pulled, which they graded for an impressive PSA10 rating.
In the world of Pokemon card collecting, diehard collectors will often get their cards graded. Through this process, a grader will determine the quality of the overall condition, ranging on a scale of 1 to Gem Mint 10.
When those outside the collecting sphere think of PSA grading, they likely think about cards in pristine condition. But sometimes the overall rarity of a card can trump its condition.
As such, one fan had a rare Error card PSA graded, which resulted in an incredibly rare PSA10 Gem Mint Error card that left fans wowed.
Pokemon TCG player shows off PSA10 Error card
The Error card came from a post on the Pokemon TCG subreddit, where a player made a thread titled, “Pulled this about a month ago and it just got back today.”
The card itself was a Crown Zenith UR Colress’s Experiment trainer card. The error itself was quite obvious and very unique, as the hollow foil appeared to be incorrectly applied.
Instead of the normal, vibrant card art, the error essentially made the card one giant slab of silver reflective foil with very faint etchings of the original artwork behind it.
What’s more, was that this unique Error card was graded as a PSA10 Gem Mint card by the Professional Sports Authenticator division of Collectors Universe.
Fans in the comments were stunned by the pull. “God d*mn, boi. What a phenomenal error card to have,” said one fan. Another said, “Now THAT is an error. Seriously sick of seeing the same off-center posts 23 times a day.”
Others expressed interest in pulling unique Error cards of their own in the future. “Lowkey pulling one of these errors for a full art or SAR is my chase.”
While it may seem counterintuitive to seek out Error cards, it’s certainly true that they’re much rarer than standard cards. At the end of the day, cards like these may become the white whales of many collectors.
