Victoria Monet, nominated for seven Grammys, took home her first Grammy at the 66th Annual celebration on Sunday night.

On February 4, 2024, Monet took home the Grammy for Best New Artist after being in the industry for 15 years.

Having tweeted ten years earlier about winning the acclaimed music award, Monet seemingly manifested her win into her reality.

Monet’s fans have since reacted to her finally receiving her flowers, excited for the “On My Mama” singer.

Fans of Victoria Monet applaud her for her ‘delayed’ win

Thanking her mom and management in her acceptance speech, Monet also brought light to her journey thus far, “You can look at the music industry as soil, and it can be looked at as dirty or it can be looked at as a source of nutrients and water.”

Monet continued, “My roots have been growing underground unseen for so long, and I feel like today I’m sprouting, finally, above ground.”

Though it took time to be rightfully celebrated as an artist, Monet had her eyes on winning a Grammy 10 years ago.

Taking to Twitter/X on February 10, 2013, to vow, “Stayin in working, while I dream of that Grammy!!!” Monet quite literally manifested her future win.

After winning, Monet fans took to the internet to applaud the R&B artist, saying, “Victoria Monet and Coco Jones are truly the epitome of delayed, NOT denied.”

The fan continued, “They have both been in the industry for years, and could’ve easily given up or detoured, but instead, they embraced the challenge and are showing us why delayed gratification is worth it in the end.”

Another fan urged others not to give up, pointing out that it took Monet over a decade to popularize and win a Grammy.

As for what comes next for Monet, fans can only hope she’s working on new music, as nothing has been said about another album after her 2023 release of “Jaguar II.”
