How to survive Clinger grenade damage in Fortnite
A Reddit user has discovered a way to survive being stuck with a Clinger grenade in Fortnite.
The Clinger was introduced to Fortnite Battle Royale back in April and quickly gained popularity as an effective tool at both eliminating players and destroying enemy structures.
Dealing 100 damage to players and 200 damage to structures, Clingers are a death sentence if attached to a player without any shields.
It’s no surprise, then, that Reddit user mrCodebot, who goes by Cute Entity in game, was shocked to find out they could survive being stuck by a Clinger despite not having any shields.
Despite being hit with what should have been a fatal blow, Cute Entity’s split-second decision making not only saved his life but surely infuriated his opponent in the same moment.
As soon as Cute Entity is stuck with the Clinger, the player immediately moves towards a corner of the room with a clear plan in mind. Cute Entity places a pyramid on the ground and crouches down inside of it, which seemingly clipped the Clinger outside of the build and allowed them to walk away unscathed.
It’s unclear whether this is an intended interaction or whether Cute Entity simply ran into a lucky bug that saved the player’s life. Whichever it was, the play was yet another example of the quick thinking and ingenuity that Fortnite players exhibit on a near-daily basis.
