Fortnite player discovers unfortunate vault glitch

A Fortnite player unexpectedly uncovers a glitch using cars that takes vault camping to a new level.

There has been a new wave of vault campers since Fortnite re-introduced them during Chapter 5 Season 1. What once was a great opportunity to upgrade weapons has turned into a coin-flip trap, with players doing whatever possible to catch enemies off guard.

Vaults can only be opened by defeating the boss at a point of interest on the map. When defeated, bosses drop keycards or medallions, which allow entry to the locked vaults.

These vaults have become the perfect place for players to camp around and attack players who have successfully defeated the bosses and wish to get inside. However, a new glitch has revealed an alternative way to get into the vaults without defeating the boss.

Cars can grant access to Fortnite vaults

A Redditor shared a video showing their attempt to enter a vault after defeating a boss and obtaining a medallion, only to discover multiple enemies already inside. The poster questioned how the players could get inside, only to discover it was thanks to an annoying glitch.

“Probably another vault glitch,” said one commenter. “There was one a while ago that let you drive a car in there without opening it.”

This comment had the most likes under the post, with multiple other users agreeing that it was most likely the cause. To support this case, the end of the clip shows one of the poster’s teammates running into a car outside the vault.

“If you ever approach a vault and a vehicle is parked right next to or in front of it, avoid it,” said another user. “More than likely, someone glitched their way in with said vehicle.”

There is no telling how long this glitch has been available in the game or if there will be a patch that addresses this issue. Epic Games has not made any statements regarding the glitch, meaning that vaults will continue to be a hot spot for campers.
