Server : glass of wine

A server went viral after telling people to stay at home when they complained about the expense of a glass of wine.

A server who goes by the username @amuck_indstrl on TikTok, took to the platform to complain about an interaction he’d had with customers.

He begins the video by stating: “If you can’t afford to go out, like, stay home, or at least pay attention to what you’re ordering. Or at least don’t give the … server s**t.”

He shared a story where a couple came into the restaurant he works at, and the woman ordered a large glass of wine that was priced at $21. After the couple sat down, and they were given the bill once they were done, the man freaked out over the cost of the wine.

“I just … work here,” the TikToker explained, “I don’t make the … prices. Look at the menu. The prices are listed.”

Fellow servers back waiter

After the video was posted on the platform, people were eager to weigh in with their thoughts. Most sided with the waiter, writing that: “People lack common sense. I’m over it ugh.”

“So did they pay for it? I hope y’all stood your ground and made them pay for it. Those customers knew what they were doing,” one asked.

The creator replied, stating “Yup! I Wasn’t gonna let ‘em get away with it.”

“This! I work at two restaurants and when I tell them their total they always want to question it,” a fellow server wrote.

“True, but also unionize so that restaurants have to start paying living wages,” one stated.

Another server went viral on TikTok when she revealed a secret trick she uses to get customers to tip 20%.
