The world of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is massive and travelling on foot can be daunting at times. Therefore, as a player you might want to get some help with that and Chocobo is your best friend in this regard in the game.

However, you might want to change the appearance of your Chocobo at times to make it look a little different. As it happens, you can do it, though it will take some work.

Here is what you need to do to change your Chocobo’s appearance in the game.

How to change Chocobo appearance in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Changing a Chocobo’s appearance in the game requires an item called the Golden Plume. Here is a guide on how to get that item and use it:

• Before you can start earning Golden Plumes, you will need to unlock the Chocoboutique in the Grasslands region
• You can find this quest from Bill’s Ranch after you make your way to Kalm following the Nibelheim Flashback
• Finish all the side quests in Bill’s Ranch and you will get access to Golden Plumes
• You can now use it to decorate your Chocobo
• Each region has Chocobo stops that you can repair for one Golden Plume
• Additionally, wrangling new Chocobos will reward you with two Golden Plumes, but you can do this only once

It is also important to mention here that if you are struggling to find out the Chocobo stops, you can follow a baby Chocobo and it will guide you to your designated location. Finally, in order to change the appearance you can visit the Chocoboutique of a particular region.

However, you cannot use the Chocoboutique until you have completed all the side quests linked to a particular Chocobo Ranch.
