What can happen in any One Piece chapter lately is anyone’s guess as the Egghead Island arc enters a highly turbulent time. A brief recap: Luffy is missing after a quick recovery meal given by an unknown ally. Kizaru is extremely reluctant to fight anymore, and Kuma slugged one of the Five Elders, Saturn, who has called in a Buster Call to deal with the situation.
Way back in Chapter 1078, the “Egghead Island Incident” was kicked off in full force; what exactly would happen was anyone’s guess, the key being the outcome, so the ending of Egghead Island could be coming sooner than expected as tensions rise to a boil. Now we have one of the Five Elders and an Admiral ordering a Buster Call to destroy Egghead Island, so you would guess the incident is the destruction of Egghead Island, similar to the Ohara Incident and Enies Lobby.
However, those incidents didn’t involve a very weary admiral and a Gear 5-capable Luffy. The Buster Call contains a fleet of ships all to fire on an island, destroying everything, including the inhabitants, but who’s to say that Luffy can’t whip out a massive Gear 5 Gum-Gum Balloon, redirecting all of the fire back at the fleet, so the Egghead Island incident may become the first time a Buster Call is successfully repelled.
Sanji and Franky both earn an extraordinary moment in Chapter 1104 but are still in the heat of it all with Saturn and Kizaru, as Kuma and Bonney make an escape attempt. Luffy will not leave his friends alone to fend for themselves against these beasts. So, him diving in with an unpredictable fully powered Gear 5 technique that blows everyone away or Kuma regaining his mind and warping everyone to safety are all real possibilities that we need to wait out.
