In the previous chapter of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, we saw our protagonist revealing Sasuke’s saddening condition to Sumire and Sarada. Besides that, after learning about Boruto’s whereabouts, Mitsuki is determined to lock horns with his former best friend.
Mitsuki and Boruto were the closest to each other until the omnipotence hit the former and made him believe that Boruto was not his friend but an enemy who killed Naruto.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 6 Recap
The episode starts with Shikamaru conversing with his Homura and Koharu. They both ask him why Boruto has returned despite knowing that everyone wants to kill him. Shikamaru says that he isn’t aware of his motives, but he also can’t deny that it wouldn’t have been easy to overpower Code without Boruto’s help. Homura says that no matter what, Boruto must be eliminated as he always tries to kill Kawaki. Shikamaru still has faith in Boruto, so he decides to take their leave. Before he could go out, Koharu interrupted and asked him to formally accept the eight Hokage’s title.
After some time, Ino comes to see Shikamaru at the Hokage office. She has the mission logs that Shikamaru has asked for. However, Ino is desperate to know why he wants the old mission log. Shikamaru decides not to reply to her, instead he asks her to leave. However, when Ino leaves, Shikamaru establishes telepathic contact with her. He reveals that he doesn’t want anyone except her to know anything about the logs.
Ino says that this is a violation of the rules, so after knowing more about the content, she’ll decide whether she will support Shikamaru or not. Shikamaru says that he is doing this to keep Konoha safe, so he asks her to do as he says or leave the matter. Ino agrees and asks him what she has to do.
