The Finals lore

The Finals players have been slowly learning more about the lore behind the game and a recent leak from the patch notes suggests a more comprehensive drop in the future.

The Finals has been doling out small information and easter eggs about the lore around the multiplayer shooter, and how the cash games came to be since the game’s beta phase.

The most recent easter eggs have had to deal with what looks like an outside force hacking into the broadcast feed of the game, and trying to get a message to the contestants.

The message that fans of the game have been able to cobble together is: “THIS BROADCAST HAS BEEN HACKED BY CNS ONE NIGHT THREE DAWNS SEE THE SIGNS SEEK THE TRUTH BEYOND THE WALLS”

In the Patch 1.6 game files, one player was able to find a video for what seems to be the continuation of this storyline that is set to come out in Season 2.

The Finals player discovers new lore video

The player who discovered the new video posted it to Reddit and showcased to the community what’s in store for them in Season 2.

The video shows the end of the in-game broadcast and has the AI voice casters chatting. One refers to the hacks that fans were previously shown and someone named Sabrina who is dealing with them.

“Someone put those messages in the system,” the AI voice caster said.

The original poster said that he posted the video in the game’s official Discord, but a community manager deleted it because “it wasn’t meant to be shown yet.”

Fans of the game created theories off of the new lore drop, connecting it back to previous relations. One fan speculated that the game’s universe could be a “double simulation.”

“After enough of those hacks the two simulations will merge into one another, giving us access to all those tools of mass destruction we’ve used in-game to essentially destroy “the wall” and enter the actual real world,” they said.

However, players will have to wait for the official launch of Season 2 for more lore drops to confirm any theories they might have.
