Baldur’s Gate 3 players are convinced Larian missed a trick when it comes to Orin’s shapeshifting questline.
There’s a frustrating mystery behind Baldur’s Gate 3’s Orin questline, especially when it’s revealed that she’s actually presenting as one of your fellow party members. Typically, in a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, such a revelation would cause hours of suspicion and some serious detective work to figure out who the imposter was.
According to players, in Baldur’s Gate 3, that suspicion is still there but doesn’t feel as strong as it could be. So, one fan has suggested a missed opportunity for Larian in regards to how they could have approached the quest line, and players are obsessed.

Sharing their idea on Reddit, one Baldur’s Gate 3 player posits that “you should be able to accuse everyone of being” Orin when she’s shapeshifted into one of your friends.
The poster went on to joke about how you should be able to “accuse every NPC of being her. Your companions, Gortash…. yourself, and especially Orin herself.”
They continued to provide a hilarious scene where you would confront Orin and call her out for being a shapeshifter.
Many fans found the idea hilarious, commenting: “Watch, she’ll turn red any second now! Aaaaany second now… See? Red! No, wait, is that…blood? No, never mind.”
However, others praised the player for their idea, explaining how they “would love a scene accusing yourself of being Orin.”
Another commented: “I do find it odd that there is this big issue about an imposter being in your camp but you have no means to do anything about it.” This sentiment was echoed across the comments section, and many felt the Orin saga was a missed opportunity: “Kinda shocked and bummed out that the whole reveal that Orin replaced someone in camp didn’t amount to some kind of investigation segment to figure out which one of us was Orin.”
