Clips from Rust Creek, a nail-biting 2018 thriller, have been viewed by millions on TikTok – here’s how you can watch the full movie and if it’s on Netflix.

With so many streamers vying for our attention, two companies reign supreme over the world’s screen time: Netflix and TikTok.

The latter platform is especially powerful: it has an estimated 1.2 billion users, with Americans spending 4.43 billion minutes every day on TikTok. Its relationship with movies is also pretty fascinating: time and time again, random movie clips (often without the title) fetch millions of views, whether it’s half of a creepy short film, an old trailer, or part 15 of a three-hour epic.

Rust Creek is another example, somehow trending five years after its quiet, forgotten release. Here’s how you watch it.

Is Rust Creek on Netflix?

No, Rust Creek isn’t available on Netflix right now.

However, it can be watched via AMC+ and The Roku Channel, and you can also buy or rent it digitally on Amazon Prime and other on-demand platforms. It’s also available on Prime Video in the UK and Australia – and with the help of a VPN, you can easily change your browser’s location and watch it.

If you were convinced you’d find it on Netflix, that’s likely due to MovieClub48 sharing the trailer on TikTok. It’s amassed more than 3.2 million views, but it also claims this “new movie is finally on Netflix” – when it’s neither new nor on Netflix.

The official synopsis reads: “An ordinary woman must summon extraordinary courage to survive a nightmare odyssey in this harrowing survival thriller. Sawyer (Hermione Corfield) is an ambitious, overachieving college senior with a seemingly bright future.

“While on her way to a job interview, a wrong turn leaves her stranded deep in the frozen Kentucky woods. Suddenly, the young woman with everything to live for finds herself facing her own mortality as she’s punished by the elements and pursued by a band of ruthless outlaws. With nowhere left to run, she is forced into an uneasy alliance with Lowell (Jay Paulson), an enigmatic loner with shadowy intentions. Though she’s not sure she can trust him, Sawyer must take a chance if she hopes to escape Rust Creek alive.”
