Jessica and Alice in Imaginary

Here’s your guide to the Imaginary cast, including the stars of the 2024 Blumhouse horror movie and details on who they play.

If you’re a fan of the ‘kids toy turns deadly and annihilates everyone around them’ sub-genre, then you’ll have likely had your eye on Imaginary, the latest Blumhouse horror to hit the big screen. This time, it’s a supernatural stuffed bear who’s causing mayhem.

Imaginary isn’t an outlier. From Chucky and Dead Silence to Annabelle and M3GAN, kids toys turned deadly has always been a popular horror subgenre by tapping into our childhood fears. Chauncey, as the villain of the 2024 horror movie is so aptly called, caused a huge stir when he was first revealed in initial trailers, but he’s not the only one in this movie to pay attention to.

As such, here’s everything you need to know about the Imaginary cast, the stars, and where you’ve seen them before.

Jessica: DeWanda Wise

Jessica in Imaginary

DeWanda Wise plays Jessica, a creative children’s author who does everything she can to be the best stepmom she can be to her husband’s daughters. Though Jessica has her own demons, she’s excited to move into her childhood home with her new family for a fresh start — that is until unusual events start occurring.

Wise is best known for her roles in She’s Gotta Have It, Jurassic World Dominion, The Harder They Fall, and Fatherhood.

Max: Tom Payne

Payne starred as “Jesus” in The Walking Dead. A number of his other roles include Prodigal Son, The Physician, and Waterloo Road.

Taylor: Taegen Burns

Taegen Burns plays Taylor, the eldest of Max’s daughters. She’s your typical teen, full of angst, and she hasn’t had the easiest time due to her biological mom’s struggles. But she’s forced to grow up fast when Chauncey the bear and Alice’s interactions grow increasingly sinister.

Burns’ other acting credits include The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, Monarch, and Blue Ridge.

Alice: Pyper Braun

Alice in Imaginary

Pyper Braun joins the Imaginary cast as Alice, Max’s youngest daughter and Taylor’s baby sister. She too has had to adjust to her new life, and initially, it seems like her imaginary friend is a coping mechanism. As the movie progresses, we soon find out that all is not what it seems.

Despite her young age, Braun has appeared in a number of TV shows and movies, including Erin & Aaron, Raven’s Home, and Desperation Road.

Gloria: Betty Buckley
