Grey’s Anatomy is heading to Disney+, as part of a new app. But what does this mean for how you can stream the long-running show?

While not the longest running series in existence, Grey’s Anatomy has sure been a mainstay of media for a long while, and is currently the record holder of longest-running primetime medical drama.

With 19 seasons under its belt, the hospital set drama shows no signs of stopping, and fans are far from complaining.

And now, those fans can get excited to be able to access every season in one place, with a new app that Disney is putting out.

Where can I stream Grey’s Anatomy?

Grey’s Anatomy is currently available to stream on Netflix. However, there will also be a new app coming in March 2024, set to combine Hulu and Disney+, which will feature the entirety of the show’s library for an 18 month window.

This is part of a short-term domestic content agreement between Disney Entertainment and Netflix, which will include numerous other shows being shared between the platforms. The upcoming 20th Season will also be shared the day after it premieres on ABC.

This is due to a push for streaming services to combine efforts and share content: “It’s the more natural state of the business,” stated Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos at the UBS media conference. “They’ve always built the studios to license. The unnatural state was, I think, the kind of forced vertical integration. So I think that there will be opportunities for us to license, and I think more than just opportunities.”

Grey’s Anatomy has of course been one of the biggest long running shows on Netflix, and it still remains a top ratings draw on ABC. Last season, the series averaged 9.6 million total viewers across linear and streaming.

The synopsis for the show as a whole reads “The medical drama series focuses on a group of young doctors at Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital, who began their careers at the facility as interns. One of the young doctors and the show’s namesake, Meredith Grey, is the daughter of a famous surgeon. Grey struggles to maintain relationships with her colleagues, particularly the hospital’s one-time chief of surgery, Richard Webber, due to a pre-existing relationship between them – Webber and Meredith’s mother had a personal relationship when Meredith was young.”
