For years, Everton star James Tarkowski has been best known for being a dependable, consistent defender in the Premier League.

Across spells at both Burnley and Everton, Tarkowski has earned plaudits for his performances at Premier League level and the 31-year-old has also been capped twice by England.

Alongside Ben Mee, Tarkowski formed a formidable centre-half partnership under the management of Sean Dyche at Burnley and he is once again playing under Dyche now at Everton.

But while his performances on the pitch rarely come into question, his performance in a new, and very unexpected, arena has sent fans wild on social media.

Tarkowski’s “rizz” sends fans wild on social media

Tarkowski, alongside former Man City stars Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan, as well as Arsenal midfielder Jorginho and Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner, is appearing on a new Amazon Prime Video TV series called “Married to the Game”.

The series follows the footballers’ wives and gives an inside look into what it is really like to be married to a professional footballer.

And in a clip uploaded to social media by Amazon Prime Video, Tarkowski’s wife, Samantha, says to him: “Everybody looks so gorgeous,” to which the Everton star replied: “Especially you.”

When Samantha thanks him and tells Tarkowski she “wasn’t expecting that,” he replied: “I planned that for you.”

Samantha then said: “You know how to be a husband,” to which Tarkowski nervously nodded before saying: “I do.”

The exchange left fans’ toes curling and the reaction to Tarkowski’s flirting has gone viral on social media since.

One fan tweeted: “Everton deserve another 10 points deduction for that trailer alone,” while another replied: “Dyche is going to be absolutely hammering him for this.”

Another fan compared Tarkowski to Ted Lasso character Jamie Tartt, while an Everton fan joked: “There best be a scene where he’s watching Howard’s Way.”

Married to the Game will premiere on Prime Video on Friday, February 23.
