A Pokemon TCG player is being called a king amongst kings for this rare pull from the Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet-151.

The Pokemon TCG: Scarlet & Violet 151 set featured incredibly low pull rates for certain cards. The team at TCPLayer reported that the Illustration Rare Caterpie had a pull rate of 0.17%.

So, when this collector took to Reddit to share his pull of what he described as “the big one,” fans congratulated the poster.

Fans were quick to congratulate him for joining the ranks of “kings among kings.”, although one fan issued them a warning. To keep the card in a “fireproof safe.”

A Pokemon TCG fan congratulates the collector on their “big” catch.

A Pokemon fan shared some valuable context on the pull: “This card is extremely rare. It eludes even the greatest card-pullers of our time. I, myself, believed it was a myth; however, it’s shots like this that restore my faith to keep searching.”

The card has become somewhat of a meme in the TCG at the moment. Some people have albums full of Metapods, while others are still trying for them.

One fan explained that “it is technically a common card” and that “for some reason, it’s been very tough for people to pull it!”

“I purchased this as a single because I couldn’t pull it off… I’m not even kidding.” said one fan. “That’s the joke,” responded another.

For those who don’t know, the market price for the common metapod is $0.7, but for the holofoil, it’s $1.37.

If you’re keen to get the elusive Metapod card yourself, you may want to consider buying singles instead of hunting for this mythical Pokemon. Should you decide to do so, you can buy the card on TCGPlayer.com.
