Lugia, Celebi, and Ho-Oh are available for recruitment in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX for Nintendo Switch. Here’s everything you need to know about adding them to your team.

Mystery Dungeon DX released onto the Switch on March 6, at the courtesy of Nintendo and The Pokemon Company. It is a modern remake of the 2005 Game Boy Advance’s Red & Blue Rescue Team.

While the game has new features like autosave and Mega Evolutions, some things have also returned too such as being able to add Legendary monsters to your team – like Celebi, Lugia, and Ho-Oh, for example. If you’d like to know how to get them, keep on reading.

Lugia is one of the many Legendary Pokemon that you can recruit.

How to recruit Celebi, Ho-Oh, and Lugia

Like with all other Legendary Pokemon except Mew, Ho-Oh and Lugia will willingly join your squad automatically once you defeat them in battle. Celebi, though, is different – you don’t have to fight in order for him to get recruited. Instead, it’s just a case of finding and speaking to him.

In order to get to the point where you can add the mythical creature to your team, you need to have completed the main story campaign and also befriended Latios and Latias – two legendaries from Generation III.

After this, the Purity Dungeon opens up and after traversing through a massive 99 floors, you’ll find the level 55 Psychic/Grass type waiting at the top. Simply talk to it and it’ll join you automatically.

You’ll find Celebi in the Purity Forest dungeon.

For Ho-Oh, you can’t reach his dungeon until you defeat Entei, Raikou, and Suicune. Then, Mt. Faraway will open up, and he can be found on the 60th floor.

It is recommended that you are at least level 50 before taking on the challenge, though you can do it earlier if you’re prepared for more of a struggle.

The Legendary bird is weak to Rock, Electric, and Water types, so make sure you bring along a team with a mixture of those moves in order to defeat him quickly.

To find Lugia, you’ll need to have recruited all three Legendary birds Zaptos, Articuno, and Moltres after defeating Latios and Latias. After this, Alakazam will tell you that there’s been a disturbance on Legendary Island.

Once there, the birds will transport you to the Silver Trench. Like the Purity Dungeon, it has 99 floors that you must battle through, so make sure you load up with Apples so that your hunger meter doesn’t run out.

After defeating Lugia, he’ll join your team automatically, and will also give you his Deepsea Current camp for free so that you don’t have to pay anything to host him.

Pokemon Go trainer experiments with 3,500 CP league, ranks best Pokemon

Master League has returned for Season 4 of Pokemon Go’s GO Battle League which has led to a discussion about whether there should be a 3,500 CP limit league.

GO Battle League’s premier division is a free-for-all when it comes to eligible Pokemon. There is no CP limit meaning there is often a lot of mismatches.

It is the league where trainers who have grinded Pokemon Go get to put those hours to use. Maxing out a Pokemon’s CP costs a lot of Stardust!

In addition to this, due to the nature of unlimited CP Pokemon, the meta is very small. At a high level Dialga is a must and the rest is made up of Legendary and Mythical ‘mons.

Now, this does make sense. Legendary and Mythical Pokemon should be more effective at the very highest level. After all, if they weren’t, they’d be just like any other Pokemon.

Dialga Master League
Dialga is the ultimate Pokemon for Master League but not many trainers have it…

3,500 CP limit

If Master League were to be made a 3,500 CP limit, or more likely a 3,500 CP limit league added separately, then we’d see a lot more Pokemon prosper. It would also make the league playable for trainers that haven’t or can’t spend hours and hours grinding the game.

Going back to Dialga again, as it is the best Pokemon in Master League, at 3,500 CP it drops all the way from the best to 62nd. Not many trainers have the Temporal Pokemon, so this alone already makes a new league more inclusive.

Here are the top 10 ranked Pokemon for a potential 3,500 CP limit league. The top 5 (and more) can be found here:

  • Snorlax (Shadow) | Rating: 743

  • Mamoswine | Rating: 651

  • Snorlax | Rating: 697

  • Togekiss | Rating: 683

  • Giratina (Altered) | Rating: 804

  • Melmetal | Rating: 750

  • Regice | Rating: 684

  • Giratina (Origin) | Rating: 788

  • Landorus (Incarnate) | Rating: 741

  • Swampert | Rating: 719

  • Mew | Rating: 738

There’s certainly a big gap between the Ultra and Master Leagues in Pokemon Go. It will be interesting to see if Niantic do something to bridge that gap.

They have, however, introduced Premier Cup competitions, making Legendary Pokemon ineligible. Still, based on feedback in the Pokemon Go community these aren’t too popular.
