The Overwatch League Grand Finals Will Take Place in a Major Arena

The Overwatch League Season One Grand Finals will take place in the Barclays Arena in Brooklyn, New York.

The grand final will take place July 27th-28th, with the winner crowned the champions of the league’s inaugural season.

The venue already has something of an esports history, having hosted ESL One New York premier CS:GO tournaments in recent years to much praise. It’s also perhaps a fitting location given that the season so far suggests a high probability that the New York Excelsior will appear in the finals.

At the end of Stage 4 of the OWL’s regular season, the top six teams in the overall season standings will secure a spot in the playoffs. The top seed from each of the two divisions will advance straight to the semi-finals, while the other four qualifying teams will be drawn into the quarter-finals based on overall seeding.

The quarter-finals and semi-finals will take place in the Blizzard Arena in Burbank, California, where the rest of the season has been hosted, from July 11th-21st. The final showdown between the surviving two teams will take place in the Barclays Arena.

The grand final itself will be a best-of-three of best-of-five series, meaning a team will need to win two series in order to take the championship. The first series will take place on Friday July 27th, and series two and three (if necessary) will take place on Saturday July 28th.
