Overwatch 2 players have called out streamers who use smurf accounts for flaming their teammates at lower ranks, branding it as”out of touch”.

“Unranked to GM” content has been controversial for a while now, as it relies on streamers using smurf accounts and unbalancing lower ranked games. Players have been criticizing the practice consistently since the game launched, with some describing it as “lazy and unfair”.

Blizzard has frequently attempted to crack down on smurfs, often in response to players voicing concerns that they damage competitive integrity of the game.

But now, some players are taking aim at the streamers who insist on flaming less skilled players, even when they’re using smurf accounts to access different matchmaking.

Overwatch 2 players still aren’t happy with smurfing streamers

One player pulled no punches in describing how they felt about streamers who flamed less-skilled teammates, saying that it was “the cringest sh*t ever.”

“It is already inherently disingenuous content to begin with, because its basically T500 players abusing lower ranks for content. Complaining about the how bad the players are at a rank you chose to be at is insanity.

“The ultimate proverbial cherry on top is watching Samito bitch for 15 minutes straight about how his team will 100% lose if his DPS wont swap, while not swapping is the entire premise of his content. How out of touch can these streamers possibly be?!?!?

“You’re a self proclaimed top 50 player on all roles and youre gonna lose a a diamond game because Timmy decided to hop on his 10 year old PC after school to play echo.”
