Twenty One Pilots fans poked around the internet and noticed that red tape began appearing on previous album covers on Apple Music. They’re convinced a new era is on the horizon.

It’s been nearly three years since Twenty One Pilots released an album. Their 2021 studio set ‘Scaled and Icy’ resulted in three No. 1 hits on the alternative charts.

While their mainstream chart success never reached the commercial heights of ‘Stressed Out,’ ‘Ride,’ and ‘Heathens,’ the musical duo have continued to impress and tour the world.

There has yet to be a reveal or announcement for new music, but that hasn’t stopped fans from picking up little clues. On February 15, fans noticed something odd about the band’s previous albums and are convinced a new album era is coming soon.

Fans pick up a potential clue for Twenty One Pilots return

Twenty One Pilots fans began to notice red tape appearing on previously released albums on Apple Music. Additionally, the red tape appears to be placed over eyes found on the studio art.

“So the album covers changed at 10:00 on the 1000th day since SAI was released. Twenty One Pilots really is something,” noticed one fan, referencing ‘Scaled and Icy.’

That same user quickly added, “And don’t forget, Ned’s Cozy Campfire was exactly 10:00 long.”

“New twenty one pilots era we are so back,” wrote a fan.

“Oh my god…. there’s something cooking,” echoed another, attaching a video of the user scrolling through their Apple Music playlist.

“Me evolving into my most annoying person on earth personality every time twenty one pilots come back to earth,” said a third.

“Haven’t felt an adrenaline rush like this in ages, why does twenty one pilots do this to me,” chimed in a user.

“If I had a nickel for every time I had to buy a specific color of tape because of Twenty One Pilots, I’d have two nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird it happened twice,” quipped another.

Many artists from Taylor Swift to Ariana Grande are known for dropping hints online or tinkering with social media as a way to lure in fans about new projects. Twenty One Pilots joins their ranks in hyping up their fanbase ahead of a new era. Time will certainly tell if and when the duo make their big comeback.
