A look at the notable changes

Now that the 2023 NFL season has concluded, several players have received new X-Factor ability upgrades to reflect their strong seasons. Per the Madden 24 team, this is the final X-Factor “shuffle” of the season.

Among those changes, Jaguars linebacker Josh Allen now has Unstoppable Force, while Lions standout receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has Double Me.

Additionally, the Madden 24 team reverted a Fatigue change that caused defenders to receive a significant penalty when pass rushing and engaging with a much larger blocker.

Fatigue has been a documented issue among the player base for several weeks. While the Madden development team stated the concept worked on premise, it led to other issues that hindered the user experience.

GAMEPLAY
  • Fatigue Tuning Update – We have now reverted the Fatigue changes where defenders would get a severe fatigue penalty when pass rushing and engaging in a block with a blocker that was significantly bigger than the defender.

DEV NOTE – Though the concept of this new fatigue penalty was something that was correct in premise, the application resulted in too many undesired artifacts that hindered the end user’s playing experience. We do plan to revisit this in the future and possibly implement a more comprehensive version in an upcoming title.
