Perkz benched team heretics

According to a report from Sheep Esports, Perkz was suddenly benched by Team Heretics due to a “dispute” with the organization’s management.

Perkz is one of the greatest Western League of Legends players of all time. His run with G2 between two different roles cemented him as an all-time great alongside all of the players on that late 2010s-era roster, though he’s struggled to find success beyond that team.

His time on Team Vitality didn’t bring him the results he or the org were hoping for from 2022-23, resulting in his move to Team Heretics with Wunder and Jankos from that legendary roster. However, things still didn’t go in Heretics’ favor for 2024’s Winter Split.

Though the team was planning to start with Perkz in Spring, he’s been benched according to a report from Sheep Esports, and is now being replaced by Zwyroo.

Perkz reportedly benched by Team Heretics

The report from Sheep Esports follows a cryptic tweet from Jankos that stirred up a buzz within the League of Legends community, with some speculating that Jankos may have been on the chopping block ahead of the Spring Split.

At the time of writing, Jankos’ position on the team seems to be just fine. It’d turn out that this tweet was likely referring to a situation with Perkz, instead.

This change was apparently decided upon on Thursday, February 29, despite the team playing scrims with Perkz the next day. ZywOo, the player who will be taking his spot according to the report, is moving up from Team Heretics’ ERL team.

This story comes in the wake of Team BDS’ Adam being benched for similar reasons, with tensions between him and his head coach becoming too much to bear for the team.

As of right now, neither Perkz nor Team Heretics have officially commented on the matter.
