Helldivers 2 Cutting Edge Warbond

Helldivers 2 players are about to get a serious upgrade to their arsenal thanks to the Cutting Edge Warbond. Here’s everything we know so far about the next Premium Warbond including its new weapons and armor sets.

As if Helldivers 2 wasn’t already a certified banger, the devs keep adding more to the game to keep it fresh. The recent inclusion of Planetary Hazards and a brand new Major Order that looks to be the key to unlocking Mechs have turned the game on its head.

Now there’s even more to look forward to with the next Premium Warbond scheduled to drop on March 14, 2024. It looks jam-packed with game-changing content and we can’t wait to try some of it out.

Thanks to a PlayStation blog post, we know a little bit about what’s to come in the next Premium Warbond. While we don’t have all the details on Helldivers 2’s Cutting Edge Warbond just yet, we have seen some new armor and a host of new Primary Weapons.

Everything coming to Helldivers 2’s Cutting Edge Warbond so far

We don’t have clear information on everything the new Helldivers 2 Premium Warbond includes but we do have some tidbits on the most exciting additions. The preview posted by PlayStation focuses primarily on some awesome-looking armor and some mechanically interesting Primary Weapons.

The EX Series Prototype Armors

Helldivers 2’s Cutting Edge Warbond adds a new set of light, medium, and heavy armor set so everyone has something to strive for. These new armor sets are experimental prototypes that are finally ready for field testing in the Galactic War.

The team at Arrowhead Games Studios has shared their names and a fun little blurb for each to give you an idea of what they’re about:

  • EX-03 Prototype 3 – “Includes a rubber underlayer for insulation. Handy, really, as this prototype’s wires operate at a shocking 400,000 volts.”
  • EX-16 Prototype 16 – “Warning: Electric arc generates a strong magnetic field. Avoid use while near stapled paperwork.”
  • EX-00 Prototype X – “The end result of several billion Super Credits and 12 years of research into creating ‘the Soldier of Tomorrow’. Show us it was worth it.”

There are a bunch of brand-new Primary Weapons coming with the Cutting Edge Warbond.

New Primary Weapons, Grenades & Sidearm

The mad scientists of Super Earth’s R&D division have cooked up a whole new arsenal for spreading Managed Democracy. Along with the G-23 Stun Grenade and a brand-new laser pistol called the LAS-7 Dagger, there’s a suite of impactful new Primary Weapons.

Here’s what Arrowhead has said about these new weapons and how they’ll be used to wipe out bots and bugs:

  • LAS-16 Sickle – “A sweet laser rifle that fires in short bursts. And it doesn’t need reloading. Just watch for overheating or shove a new heatsink in there.”
  • SG-8P Punisher Plasma – “Exploding plasma rounds sound deadly… because they are, to aliens and allies! This modified Punisher shotgun is as fun as it is fearsome.”
  • ARC-12 Blitzer – “Project an arc of close-range lightning, or charge it up to fire off powerful bolts. Good for taking out multiple targets and giving you more time to pick a celebration emote.”

Along with all of those new goodies, Helldivers 2’s Cutting Edge Warbond also features three new capes and three new emotes. You can get a better look at those in the trailer above.

While there’s no info on things like Medal cost per item or what tier each belongs to, we’ll be sure to update this guide when those details drop.
