Genshin Impact players want one major Honkai Star Rail feature added to the game, which many believe will improve the overall experience.

Genshin Impact events enable players to take part in time-limited minigames, unlock free 4-stars, and even play through unique character quests.

This makes missing events a huge problem, particularly when certain quests are locked behind them – an area that has proven problematic for new players.

Well, now the Genshin Impact community is calling for HoYoverse to add a popular Honkia Star Rail mechanic to help eliminate one of the game’s most frustrating issues.

Genshin players want HSR feature added to the game

There’s currently no way to play past story events in Genshin Impact.

Writing on the official Honkai Star Rail Reddit page, one player questioned why a specific Honkai Star Rail feature had seemingly been left out of Genshin Impact. “So, I finally started playing HSR actively a week ago and just found this, you can play events if you missed them. Why doesn’t Genshin have that?!”

The post has since received a lot of attention from both the Genshin and Honkai communities, with both sides left puzzled as to why the devs have yet to add such a useful QoL feature.

“The most hilarious part to Genshin’s is that it has the gall to place the biggest lore drops in the entire game, and then f*cking lock them behind time-limited events that will never come back,” commented one frustrated player. “With even some having character development to them.”

Another Genshin Impact player also noted how certain characters’ stories are locked behind events, meaning new players lose a lot of vital background information.

“All of Fischl’s story events have been events. Like, she got the first event, back when you needed original Resin to grab rewards,” responded one commenter. “And then she got her next, far bigger event: Golden Archipelago 2. Literally, a series of islands that were made up for the period between major release versions.”

It’s this lack of replayability that has the Genshin community worried for those who missed important events, particularly newcomers to the game.

“There’s going to be probably a million posts with people asking when the f*ck that came up in the story because most likely they’re not going to make lines for the characters that explain these things to those who never played the event.”

As for why Genshin Impact lacks Honkai Star Rail’s event catchup feature, one player believes it’s largely down to technical reasons.

“At this point, I just assumed Genshin has too many spaghetti codes that they are too deep in the gutter to fix to provide such QoL,” the explained. “HSR being midway dev along with these features being made into Genshin, then incorporating to HSR is far easier…”
