After a TikToker showcased a video of how they prep the food at Chipotle, people couldn’t believe the work that went into the whole process.

Chipotle prices have been the subject of debate for a long time, with many fans complaining that the prices are far too high. In December, an actual Chipotle employee warned fans that they were being skimped, claiming that the chain was doing it on purpose.

Now, however, in a video that’s since been deleted, people have changed their minds, witnessing the extensive meal prep that happens behind the scenes.

A TikToker named Jari, who regularly posts Chipotle content, uploaded a video titled “Day in the life of a Chipotle employee.” In the video, we can see that she gets to work super early: “As you guys can see, I’m just cutting up the lettuce, and it’s, like, around 7:17 am, and I’m here alone prepping by myself,” she says.

“After every product, you have to take the dishes back to the dishwasher, spray them off, and run them through… And make sure you wipe down and sanitize your area.”

She then goes on to finely chop the onions, eyes watering, before prepping the peppers, cilantro and guacamole. The video finishes off with Jari serving her first customer.

After the video was posted on TikTok, people couldn’t wait to weigh in and share their opinions, with many eager to praise the poster for her hard work: “I love how everything is fresh! Didn’t realize yall work that hard!”

“I didn’t know you guys do this ALL by hand!! Extremely impressive,” another said, clearly taken aback.

“Girl I’m never gonna complain about the prices again – omg,” one stated.

Another Chipotle worker went viral, after they were assaulted by a customer. They did, however, get their revenge.
