YouTuber Rhett McLaughlin has updated his fans on the status of merch preorders that he held for his music side project, James and the Shame.

Over the last year or so, Rhett McLaughlin, one of the faces of legendary YouTube duo Rhett & Link and co-host of Good Mythical Morning, has shared his musical talents through a side project.

Rhett calls it ‘James and the Shame,’ and in the fall of 2023, the star put together a fair bit of preorder merch for fans to purchase. Soon after they did, though, the supplier went bankrupt and never shipped product.

Now, Rhett has an update for fans waiting for their items and he’s left them quite happy with the resolution.

In a TikTok video on January 20, 2024, Rhett shared how he’s going to still manage to get customers their preordered product.

“I’ve been waiting for more information to tell you all about it,” he said. “Long story short, there’s nothing I can do to get to that money that was collected. However, I do have the information for who ordered what item.

“I am committed to getting you what you paid for.”

To fix the issue, he’s working with his team at Mythical to handle all of his merch and Rhett says that they are trying to get the items to those who preordered back in the fall by the end of March 2024.

He also pledged to donate all of the merch profits to charity, but since there aren’t going to be any profits now, he’s making a donation out of pocket.

Fans took to the comments to share their love for the creator, with over 1200 people doing so.

“This is the reason I love you and mythical so much. this just shows what a wonderful soul you have and you inject into your buissness,” one said.

Another commented: “Incredible damage control! A lot of streamers and Tubers need to take notes.”
