YouTube couple Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau finally went through with their long-awaited wedding, however one Twitter user is claiming that their marraige may not have been legally binding.

The YouTubers set the internet ablaze on June 24 when they revealed that they had gotten engaged during Mongeau’s 21st birthday bash. The pair seemed set to tie the knot only a few days later on June 28 but put it off for a month.

In front of family, friends, and a paying audience on a livestream, Paul and Mongeau went through with their union on July 28 – despite a fight breaking out during the ceremony. However, one Twitter sleuth has alleged that their matrimony may not have been entirely official.

Twitter user Its_heatherchan claims that the wedding was “fake & not legally binding” because no wedding license was obtained.

The account also alleged that to officiate a wedding in Las Vegas you must obtain a further license and Team 10’s Arman ‘Armani’ Izadi did not – even though it was claimed that he become ordained in order to carry out the ceremony.

Its_heatherchan dug deeper into the story, noting that proof of these licenses can be found in a local online database.

After searching for both ‘Jacob Paul’ and Tana Mongeau, the Twitter user was seemingly unable to find any sort of record online. They also pointed out that while some fans may claim that a license can be obtained in a different state, Nevada weddings must have a Nevada license.

The user even pointed out that anyone can search through these databases for specific names and people – especially when it comes to getting a license to officiate a wedding.

“Again, this was NOT a legal wedding!” they claimed. “I have an issue with lying to fans, especially when charging $50 [pay-per] view under the guise it’s real.”

Despite the claims, the YouTube couple did, in fact, celebrate their union with social media posts after the ceremony.

Tana even went as far as to tweet about the fight that broke out during the pair’s first dance and labeled herself as ‘Tana Paul’.

It still remains to be seen as to whether Its_HeatherChan is correct with their claim or if Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau are now actually married.

Dexerto has reached out to Jake Paul, Tana Mongeau and their respective management teams for comment and this post will be updated with any responses.
