CoD legend Scump cameos in Super Bowl LVIII commercial alongside Aubrey Plaza

Call of Duty legend Scump just made a cameo appearance in a Super Bowl LVIII commercial alongside Aubrey Plaza for Mountain Dew.

For the older Call of Duty fans amongst us, CoD and Mountain Dew (and add Doritos into the mix) are essentially synonymous, thanks to years of memes and parody MLG montage edits in the mid-2010s.

It’s clear the people at PepsiCo are very well aware of their beverage’s connections to CoD meme lore, considering the two brands have had cross-promotions since the early days of the OG Modern Warfare 3 to last year’s MW2.

And it seems Mountain Dew is still giving nods to their CoD connections, with CoD’s very own Seth “Scump” Abner making a cameo in their latest Super Bowl LVIII ad.

The ad stars Aubrey Plaza, known for Parks and Recreation, The White Lotus, and among many other films, promoting Mountain Dew’s Baja Blast.

Albeit a brief cameo that lasted for barely a second, Scump appears as himself seemingly reacting on stream to Aubrey Plaza killing him in a game off-screen, with a live stream chat overlay to boot.

Scump’s cameo is quite similar to MrBeast’s hyped-up Super Bowl commercial cameo last year, both being very short but noticeable enough for fans to clock.

But whereas MrBeast got a line to say and was fully in view for a whole shot, Scump was relegated to a small camera screen, with his only line being “no!”.

Despite his incredibly brief cameo, this isn’t the first time Scump has appeared in a Mountain Dew commercial, with him and former OpTic Texes teammate Dashy appearing in a commercial crossover promoting MW2 featuring NBA player Klay Thompson.
