3 CoD: Warzone tips & tricks to help you run faster than other players

Movement is one of the most important aspects of Call of Duty: Warzone, so here’s a mini-guide on how to increase your running speed in the new battle royale.

Warzone has been all the rage in the Call of Duty community, and since it’s so brand new, players are discovering tricks that improve their gameplay almost on a daily basis.

The latest tips are for movement speed, which is obviously crucial in a game such as this, as it comes into play when you’re trying to run from the gas, get to a certain spot as fast as possible, or escape from enemies trying to chase you.

Turns out that there are certain steps you can take to help you run faster than others, some more obvious but others lesser-known. Below, we’ve listed three tips and tricks that will help you move quicker in Warzone.

1. Equip a lighter weapon

It’s become quite clear that the speed at which you run in Warzone is heavily influenced by the weapon you have in your hands. With lighter guns, you will naturally move more nimbly, and thus get to where you’re going in less time.

So, if you have a light weapon like a pistol or SMG in your inventory, make sure you have that equipped when sprinting, instead of a heavier gun such as a sniper rifle or LMG. 2. Use Double Time

Double Time is a Perk 1 that really offers three distinct movement boosts. The first is that it doubles the duration of Tactical Sprint, which is that extra gear you can briefly go into while running that increases your speed by 1.5x. The regular duration of this is four seconds, which means Double Time bumps it up to eight seconds, a considerable difference.

The second boost is .it lowers the cooldown for Tactical Sprint, which means you can recover faster after one spell ends and get back to running fast sooner.

The third, and perhaps the least talked-about advantage, is that it increases crouch movement speed by 30%. When you crouch walk, your footsteps make no noise, so being able to do that 30% faster is actually pretty significant.

3. ADS Slide Cancel

Slide-cancelling is a trick that a lot of pro players have been using in competitive multiplayer matches, and there’s a variation of it that can increase your movement speed in Warzone.

The idea here is that you use your Tactical Sprint until it runs out, at which point you go into a slide, and right at the start of the animation, you briefly aim down sights with your weapon.

What this does is that it allows you to maintain the fastest sprint speed without losing it, and the point of the ADS at the start of each slide is to cancel out that slight delay you get when you exit the slide before you can run again.

TheXclusiveAce tested this out in-game and determined that this technique actually allows you to get from point A to B approximately 6.6% faster than if you just tried running without any tricks.

A visual demonstration of this can be found in one of his recent videos, which we’ve included below:
