DBZ fans are convinced that the Dragon Ball Super anime could finally return after multiple official accounts revealed that a “mysterious new teaser” will debut at New York Comic Con.

It’s been years since the Dragon Ball Super anime ended with the conclusion of the Tournament of Power and fans have been hungry for more content since and they might soon get their wish.

Since 2018, the Dragon Ball Super manga has continued, picking up where the anime left off. Additionally, there have been two new movies in the form of Broly and Super Hero, but the anime has remained dormant.

On September 7, official Dragon Ball Z social media accounts, including Japanese ones, began hyping up a “new teaser” that debut at New York Comic Con suggesting something big is in the works.

Is a new Dragon Ball anime or movie being announced at NYCC?

The official New York Comic Con website states that on October 12, there will be a special Dragon Ball panel. Although it’s not yet clear who will partake, the description is raising some eyebrows.

“We will talk about new developments in the Dragon Ball series, along with a mysterious new teaser. Also the appearance of special guests!” it says.

As reported by DBS Hype, Toei Animation, Dokkan Battle, Super Dragon Ball Heroes and the DB Games all reposted the original announcement indicating that they all want eyes on this panel.

Of course, there’s no confirmation that an anime or movie will be announced. It’s also possible that the trailer could be for Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4, a game that is rumored to have a massive roster that could even rival that of Xenoverse 2’s.

We’ll have to see what ends up being shown off by the time New York Comic Con arrives and what the future may hold for Goku, Vegeta, Frieza and the rest of the characters from the beloved series.
