After it was announced that Steven Yeun would no longer be in Thunderbolts, it looks like his Walking Dead co-star may take the role.

Despite being a year away from its premiere, Marvel‘s Thunderbolts has been in the news lately thanks to its casting changes.

The movie, which will be part of the MCU’s Phase 6, will see an all-star villain team go on a secret and dangerous mission for the U.S. government.

While the majority of the team’s cast has stayed the say with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova leading the charge, Steven Yeun has departed from his role as Sentry and it looks like his Walking Dead co-star take the reigns from him.

It was recently announced that Yeun would no longer play the role of Sentry in Thunderbolts as, due to the movie’s delay thanks to the writer’s strike, he has a schedule conflict.

So, the role is currently up for grabs, but it may not be for long as it’s been rumored that Yeun’s Walking Dead co-star Austin Abrams is in talks to fill the role.

Writer Daniel Richtman, in collaboration with rDCUleaks, announced on Twitter that the actor has a “current offer” to play Sentry.

Abrams is best known for his role as Ethan in HBO Max’s hit teen drama Euphoria, but he also appeared in The Walking Dead’s fifth and sixth season as Ron Anderson.

Yeun and Abrams’ characters crossed past in Season 5 and 6 when Yeun’s group of survivors entered the safe community where Abrams’ family lived.

If cast, Abrams will be joining Pugh, Sebastian Stan (Winter Solider), David Harbor (Red Guardian), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine), and more. You can learn more about the movie’s cast and plot here.
