Madame Web spins into cinemas this week, but how long is the new Marvel movie? Here’s the Madame Web runtime explained.

Madame Web debuted in the pages of The Amazing Spider-Man #210, in November 1980. Created by Deny O’Neil and John Romita, the character is both a mutant and a clairvoyant.

She (kind-of) first appeared on the big screen last summer in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, via the character ‘C.Weber,’ who was voiced by Rachel Dratch.

Now Madame Web is getting her own standalone movie, with Dakota Johnson playing the heroine in a potential franchise-starter. So how long is the movie?

How long is Madame Web? Runtime explained

Madame Web is 1 hour and 56 minutes long, making it 116 minutes.

That’s longer than previous live-action Spider-Verse offshoots, with Venom at 112 minutes, Venom: Let There Be Carnage clocking in at 97 minutes, and Morbius at 114 minutes.

Madame Web also doesn’t feature a post-credits scene, with producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura telling ComicBook.com: “It wasn’t a conscious decision to say ‘We’re not going going to do that since everybody else does it,’ but we really liked having the ambiguity of it and having the promise of it that stood hand-to-hand where that other piece would then solidify it in a certain direction.”

As for plot, here’s the official synopsis, as per Sony: “Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who develops the power to see the future… and realizes she can use that insight to change it. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women bound for powerful destinies… if they can all survive a deadly present.”

Madame Web hits screens globally on February 14, 2024.
