Eddie Hearn slams ‘baby’ Gervonta Davis over leaked emails

Hearn addressed Davis' leaks

Eddie Hearn has criticised Gervonta Davis for leaking his offer to fight Conor Benn on social media.

American Davis and Briton Benn have been going at each other regularly on X in recent weeks, with insults aplenty hurled.

Davis is naturally a couple of weight classes lighter than Benn but a meeting between the pair did appear to be on the cards before Davis agreed to face fellow American Frank Martin instead.

And last week, Davis shared a picture of an email sent by Hearn where the promoter had laid out the terms being offered to ‘Tank’.

Davis leaked Hearn’s fight offer on social media

“We would like to talk further regarding this fight and our plan would be to stage this fight in May in the USA,” Hearn’s email said.

“We would offer $10,000,000 plus an upside on the gate and PPV that I would like to discuss further with you.”

Davis shared the email in response to Hearn saying the fighter could have made up to $25million for fighting Benn. Along with a picture of the email, Davis wrote: “25 mill where?”

Under the terms of Hearn’s offer, Davis would’ve pocketed a guaranteed $10million plus millions more in gate receipts and pay-per-view money.

Benn himself chimed in on X, writing: “Clearly gervumpalumpa doesn’t know what upside means.”

Hearn hit back at Davis’ decision to leak the email, but wished him luck in his upcoming fight against Martin.

“I don’t know why I waste my time with this guy, [he’s] like a baby,” Hearn told Boxing Social. “If you’re not willing to sit down and have a sensible business discussion, like, he doesn’t even know the details of the offer.

“He’s going to make somewhere between 15 and 25 million [dollars] to fight Conor Benn, pending how it does on pay-per-view. I don’t know what he’s getting for Frank Martin. I hope he’s getting 20 million [dollars] because that’s a tough fight, but we’ll see.

“We made him an eight-figure offer with plenty of upside. He doesn’t even want to discuss the upside because he just gets ill advice. But, anyway, I wish him all the best. Great fighter and good luck against Frank Martin.”
