Overwatch 2’s most loyal Reinhardt main throws in the towel on “unplayable” tank

Overwatch 2’s most loyal Reinhardt main, LhCloudy, has thrown in the towel on the “unplayable” tank in Season 9 as Zenyatta becomes the staple meta pick.

If there is one group of mains in Overwatch that are steadfast with their heroes, Reinhardt mains are probably some of the most loyal. After all, no other character can quite scratch that itch of a giant hammer-swinging German.

However, tanks in general have been in a weak position with Season 9’s massive shakeups, and it seems Overwatch 2’s most popular tank has become borderline “unplayable” with the new patch.

LhCloudy, a pro-Overwatch player and noted Reinhardt main, posted a video decrying the state of Reinhardt in the newest season, and he mainly puts it down to one other hero’s fault.

“You try to engage, and imagine there’s a Zenyatta guys. You’re getting Discord Orb’d, plus 30% more damage, minus 20% more healing, and what do you do on Reinhardt? You just get absolutely obliterated.”

He points out that even if you were to engage on the Zenyatta, his Season 9 changes and support from his teammate would absolutely melt a Reinhardt. “He has 275 HP, another support healing him, he can pulp you, Reinhardt is absolutely miserable to play.

Of course, the option of swapping because you’re getting counter-picked is always an option, however, Cloudy is seemingly loyal to Reinhardt no matter what.

“Most people will be like, ‘swap your Hero’. But we we are Reinhardt players, we’re not swapping our Hero. That’s not how it works. That argument makes no sense, why would you ever swap Reinhardt?”

Cloudy isn’t the first notable tank main to decry Zenyatta’s dominance in Season 9, with Flats, a noted Rein main, also wanting his Discord Orb adjusted as it is making tank “unbearable” to play as.

The devs have yet to reveal any upcoming changes to Zenyatta’s unexpected stranglehold on Season 9’s meta, however, Lead Hero Designer Alec Dawson did announce there will be adjustments made to Projectile sizes and HPs, so Reinhardt mains can only hope that Zen may be part of the changes.
