Overwatch 2′ story missions are already dropping players

The Overwatch PvE content that dropped in Season 6 was meant to breathe new life into the game, but a couple of months later it seems to be empty.

The PvE section of Overwatch 2 has been a controversial part of the game ever since it was scaled back from what was promised at the game’s launch.

Since then, Blizzard tried to make it up to players by providing constant updates for the PvE “story missions” that dropped at the beginning of the season.

However, for many players, the missions fell flat when compared to what was promised, and the extra price tag of $15 also left a bad taste in a lot of mouths. What’s more, it looks like the story missions servers are empty just a few months after release.

Overwatch 2 player frustrated by empty story missions

One player, annoyed by the lack of other people in the lobbies, complained about his long queue times and AI interactions on the official Overwatch 2 subreddit.

They said: “It’s usually just me, one other dude, and then 2 AI teammates on our team. Not to mention I’m getting 5-minute queue times. I’d rather they put off a battle pass or two and actually work on PVE rather than just accept the way things are.

“I don’t want to see this game get its servers shut down, there is SO much potential for it. I’m scared that we are nearing the end.”

One player responded: “They were only able to release 3 missions, even if they were incredible content there would probably be a struggle to find players months later. It is wacky that the teammate AI is so bad though.”

The impact of how Blizzard handled the PvE content is clearly still being felt by the community.
