MTG D&D Strixhaven library

This excellent D&D setting book expands on and explores MTG’s college of Strixhaven, perfect for any players drawn to spellcasting.

Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos is one of D&D’s best setting books in recent memory. Classic D&D sword coast settings like Waterdeep and Baldur’s Gate are great fun. There are also MTG planes like Dominaria and Ravnica, which are always worth returning to. However, Strixhaven struck out on its own in a new, magical direction.

Strixhaven is a fan-favorite among recent new MTG settings. This school, on the plane of Arcavios, is a haven for mages. With multiple colleges teaching aspiring young magic-wielders, Strixhaven takes the best of the ‘magic school’ genre and expands it in unique, interesting ways.

While Strixhaven may have served as an excellent backdrop for an MTG set, this sourcebook allows players to really dig into the place and flesh out its halls and heroes.

Strixhaven: Curriculum of Chaos is far from a bare-bones setting. This book gives DMs all they need to flesh out a whole campaign set in and around Strixhaven. With detailed worldbuilding and a whole adventure-packed within this book, a Strixhaven campaign is just waiting to be told.

There’s plenty here for players too. With new unique spells like Vortex Warp and the absurdly powerful Silvery Barbs, D&D spellcasters are being treated better than ever thanks to this book.

With its singular focus on providing a different type of D&D experience, this sourcebook is arguably one of 5e’s greatest successes. Many D&D manuals, particularly in 5e, focus on building out classic Sword Coast adventures. While there’s always room for high fantasy and horror, Strixhaven swerves in a different, unique setting and genre and is all the better for it.
