Celebrating the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars, the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm have announced a year-long celebration of this milestone. Here’s what you can expect.

LEGO Star Wars has been around for a quarter of a century. Yup, just take a moment to let that sink in. That’s a whole generation since the LEGO Group and Lucasfilm joined forces to create some of the most sought-after LEGO sets.

Now, to celebrate this remarkable milestone, the LEGO Group is kicking off the 25th anniversary of Star Wars-inspired kits at the Nuremberg Toy Fair in Germany. So, what can you expect?

Well, for starters, the Silver Jubilee festivities will last a year. How cool is that? What’s more (and arguably even cooler), LEGO will launch an array of box-fresh sets inspired by the galaxy far, far away.

But when will these brand-new kits be available? March 1, 2024. So you don’t have to wait for May 4. Indeed, the force will be with you sooner.

In addition, the LEGO Group has revealed a brand-new LEGO Star Wars 25th-anniversary logo, which, of course, will feature with each of the coming kits.

The new logo can be seen on a 1:1-scale, 27797-brick R2-D2. The latter model, which is purely (and rather unfortunately) for display purposes will travel across Europe and the U.S. throughout 2024.

Mike Ilacqua, Head of Product at the LEGO Group said:

“The LEGO Star Wars collaboration has enjoyed a most impressive 25 years with products, video games, animated content, big builds, merchandise, and more.

“We want to celebrate all those years and milestones with everyone who helped us get here, but especially with the fan community as we would never be where we are today without their creativity and passion.”

Paul Southern, Senior Vice President of the Lucasfilm Franchise and Licensing, and Disney Experiences, added:

“It’s been 25 years of true fun combining Lucasfilm’s expansive Star Wars galaxy with the ingenuity of the LEGO Group, offering fans exciting ways to recreate their favorite scenes, vehicles, and characters from our stories.

“With the enthusiasm of our fans to engage with the Star Wars galaxy and express creativity through building, we look forward to continuing the legacy of fun for decades to come.”
