Waffle Factory worker counts tips

A Waffle House waitress took to TikTok to share how much Waffle House servers make, and people can’t believe it.

In a Video that’s gone viral, a user named Lilly took to the platform to share how much money she makes in a single shift.

Filming the video from her car, she starts complaining about how strenuous the work is at the popular dining chain.

“Y’all know how Waffle House is – constantly moving. The only time I sat down today was on the toilet,” she reveals, clearly worn out.

After she sorts through the tips that she’s accumulated that day, she says that she received a total of $180.

She asks the camera, “Do y’all know anywhere where I can make some more money?”

After the video was posted on the platform, people couldn’t wait to weigh in. Despite Lilly being unhappy about the amount of tips she’d received, it seemed that many people actually thought she had a good thing going.

“$180 for 7 hours is almost $26 an hour… that’s not bad at all. Good for you,” one user wrote.

“About to quit my job and go work at Waffle House lol,” another said.

“Damn I worked at Waffle House and it was a struggle to make 50 on a busy day and that was for all of us servers at that waffle house,” a former Waffle House employee shared.

One however, revealed that waitresses may actually be able to earn even more tips, depending on where they work:

“I found out in Florida… if you hit up those three, four, five star restaurants you can clear $344-$500 a night in like 5 or 6 hours.”

There are some instances however, where the subject of tipping gets a little out of hand, like when a woman raged at Sugar Factory employees when an automatic tip was added to her bill.
