Ice-T, one of Law & Order: SVU’s main stars, has revealed the one way he would ever exit the show after decades appearing on it.

Despite premiering nine years after its predecessor, Law & Order: SVU has surpassed its original series in terms of popularity fairly quickly.

The show focuses on the Special Victims Unit of the NYPD who work on horrible cases and all of the detectives that walk through their doors.

Despite most of the cast changing throughout the years, two of the shows veterans – Ice-T and Mariska Hargitay – have stayed constantly on the show, and now Ice-T has revealed the one way he would ever leave the series as a whole.

Ice-T will leave Law & Order: SVU if his co-star does first

It’s no secret that both Ice-T and Hargitay are the last of the SVU veterans to be on the show, as most of their co-stars left years ago.

However, despite appearing on the show in Season 2, Ice-T has become a constant presence alongside Hargitay, who has been on Law & Order: SVU since it started in 1999.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ice-T was asked if he had any plans to take a step back from the series, and he revealed that he would leave the show whenever Hargitay did.

“When I leave, just turn the TV off. It’s a wrap,” Ice-T said. “No, I’m not ever leaving. I’m staying. I’m with her for the rest of the way out. People always ask, ‘What are you doing?’ I say, ‘I’m here with Mariska. That’s it. When she’s out of here, I will go on tour.”

Before joining SVU, Ice-T was seen as a hardcore rapper with one of his biggest selling singles being titled ‘Cop Killer,’ which highlights the issue of police brutality.

However, his time on the series has not softened his stance on the issue, as he told Variety, “I’m not just an actor. I am an activist. I am Body Count.” He went on to add that Hargitay has made her way into his ranks, stating, “I used to rob banks in real life. If I’m robbing a bank, I don’t need to like you. I just need to know if you can get into a safe, control a room, scan the radio and drive. Once we rob a few banks together, we’ll become the best f*cking friends. Ever.

“Now, Mariska and I have been robbing them banks for 24 years. I always tell Mariska that I’ve got my life, wife and my daughter, but that I make more money with her, so Mariska’s got to know where she ranks in my life. Do not come f*cking with Mariska.”
