Influencer defends doing dangerous Nicki Minaj ‘stiletto challenge’ while holding newborn

Influencer and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Mikayla Matthews is clapping back at criticism after attempting the viral Nicki Minaj “stiletto challenge” blindfolded while holding her two-week-old daughter.
The “stiletto challenge,” inspired by Nicki Minaj’s pose in the High School music video, involves squatting cross-legged in high heels.
Days after a Russian influencer fractured her spine attempting it, Matthews posted her own version to TikTok, cradling her newborn Lottie in one arm.
“2 weeks postpartum yesterday and we are a whole new level of TIRED lol,” she captioned the clip.
Mikayla Matthews responds after fans accuse her of endangering newborn
The video immediately sparked criticism from fans concerned about the baby’s safety.
“Girl this ain’t it. Don’t put your newborn in a position to get hurt privately, or socially,” one wrote.
“Please don’t do this with your newborn. Freak accidents can happen so quickly,” someone else warned.
Matthews, however, remained unfazed and hit out at fans accusing her of putting her child in danger. According to People, in a since-deleted Instagram Stories post, she shared the photo of her challenge along with a tongue-in-cheek edit of herself photoshopped on a flaming tightrope above a shark pit, captioned, “Vs. what everyone saw…”

“I think it’s cause it’s my body and I know what I am capable of doing,” she told critics in her comments. “I wouldn’t have done it if I thought I was going to fall. I’m 5 inches off the ground.”
Fortunately, Matthews avoided injury, unlike Russian mommy blogger Mariana Barutkina, who went viral days earlier for falling during her own attempt, suffering a compression fracture to her spine after balancing on a saucepan and baby formula canister stacked on a counter.
