100 Thieves overpriced jacket

Esports organizations have started embracing brand collab merch drops, where they’ll combine their organization’s branding with franchises their fans love. However, 100 Thieves’ latest Pokemon crossover has been panned by fans of both properties for just how expensive it is.

100 Thieves have been hyping up their Pokemon collab for a long time. And, while it certainly isn’t the first crossover they’ve done, it’s definitely the biggest. Considering Pokemon is the most profitable entertainment franchise of all time, it’s hard to get any bigger than that.

However, that brand recognition has come with some hefty prices. And, while some of the more simple items like T-shirt prints aren’t too expensive, bigger ticket items have shocked those who were looking forward to buying them.

This collaboration has certainly sparked the interest of fans, but the prices are a real sticking point to many who wanted to get their hands on some pieces from the collection.

Pokemon fans shocked by $998 100 Thieves jacket

For those who were looking forward to purchasing some of these limited-edition collab items and knew of 100 Thieves’ past merch drops, they were expecting to have to pay a bit of a premium.

However, many were taken aback by the price of some of the more high-profile items in the collection.

The response to the design of the jacket itself is generally positive, but the reaction to its price tag is not. Many were hoping it’d be around 200-300 dollars according to sentiment from users across social media.

That said, the jacket and many other items in the collection are quickly selling out. Despite the negative response from some fans, many others are happy with their purchases and have been replying to 100 Thieves’ tweet showing that they’ve purchased items from the collection.

While many believe that the jacket is overpriced, there seem to be a ton of people buying these clothes. Considering that they’re moving units, it’s not likely the prices will drop any time soon.
