Generous Pokemon Sword and Shield player is giving away rare Pokemon

With so many people unable to see their loved ones over the Easter weekend, one trainer decided to give fellow Pokemon Sword and Shield players some joy by giving away some Pokemon.

Giving away Pokemon is one thing but giving away a Mew or shinies is another level of generosity. Pokemon Sword and Shield players will attest to this as some trainers spend most of their time shiny hunting.

Mew on the other hand is super rare in its own right. The Mythical Gen 1 Pokemon can only be found as a gift through the Poke Ball Plus. So, anyone giving theirs away just to spread some joy should be commended.

That player doing the giveaway is “Hammar_Down” and did so on Reddit. “With all of the quarantining going on right now, alot of people are spending the Easter away from home. I wanted to make someone’s day by giving away an event mew and some low level shinys.”

Four Pokemon were shown in the video and these were presumably the ones up for grabs. It included the aforementioned Mew, shiny Grookey, shiny Rookidee and shiny Galarian Ponyta.

The winners were apparently selected randomly from those who commented showing interest. We can’t know for sure whether they were actually transferred but the Reddit comments at least indicate they were.

The players on the receiving end were very grateful, sharing their gratitude. The Rookidee and Ponyta had already been given away, as per the Reddit comments, and it isn’t clear what’s happened to the Mew and Grookey.

In the grand scheme of things giving away a few Pokemon may not seem like that big of a deal, but it may have been the best thing to happen to someone all day.
