Overwatch 2 developers revealed that, like LE SSERAFIM, the team is willing to bring back more collaborations in the future, but there’s a catch.
Overwatch 2 has participated in several collaborations with IPs such as Avatar: The Last Airbender, Cowboy Bebop, and One-Punch Man. But in a first, Overwatch is bringing back an older collaboration with LE SSERAFIM, with returning skins as well as the addition of new ones.
However, for fans who aren’t interested in the return LE SSERAFIM or the event in general, Blizzard revealed that this girl group may not be the only returning collaboration to the game. And with a diverse slate of collaborations to pick from, it’s possible any of them can return under the right conditions.
Blizzard might bring back some of your favorite collab skins
In an interview with PC Gamer, Aimee Dennett, Associate Director of Product Management, revealed that the team is usually open to the idea of bringing back older collaborations.
“When it comes to returning collaborations, we never say never,” Dennett explained. “We don’t want to bring something back just for the sake of bringing something back, but there’s no prior collaboration where we’d say, ‘Oh, we’ll never do that again.'”

While there’s no indication of what collab might return next, it’s worth noting that LE SSERAFIM’s fifth extended play, Hot, is set to release on March 14, which aligns with Dennett’s statement about refreshing collabs.
For other IPs, One Punch Man’s third season is set to release this fall, while a second season for the live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender as well as new animated content are on the horizon. As such, these could be prime candidates for returning collaborations in the future.
Meanwhile, the LE SSERAFIM collab with Overwatch 2 is set to release on March 18. The collab will feature new skins for the characters D.Va, Ashe, Illari, Juno, and Mercy for players to enjoy.
