A The Finals player has discovered and shared a new grapple hook trick that might bring the Light class back into S-Tier.

The Light class in The Finals has not been a top-tier meta choice in recent patches as the Medium and Heavy classes have accumulated a few buffs. This has caused players who run the class to create unique ways to overcome their lack of firepower at a distance and in one-on-one engagements.

Many Light class players use melee weapons and the stun gun and either the invisibility or dash abilities to slice down opponents at close range. This style of play has left out one of the class’ unique abilities, the grapple hook, and also limits Lights to close-ranged combat.

However thanks to one player’s grapple hooks discovery, Lights might be able to run the ability and launch up the class tier list.

The Finals grapple hook trick showcased

Reddit user ChromeSF showcased a new technique with the grapple hook that will allow players to swing around enemies at a terrifying speed.

The problem with gunfights for Lights without the trick is that Mediums and Heavy have a faster time to kill at close range. To get around this, Lights can use this grapple hook trick to become almost untraceable in combat.

The poster has showcased a trick they call circle hooking, where Lights grapple to the enemy’s feet and orbit opponents while shooting. The technique is simple to execute as all Lights need to do is grapple at their target’s feet and then hold their movement button to the left or the right, depending on which way they want to circle.

Lights using this grapple hook trick should be able to spray down Mediums and Heavies with an SMG, shotgun, or even a sword. With this, players essentially have the dash ability with a grappling hook and can also use it for its intended purpose of getting around the map fast.
