Finding a crowbar in Skull and Bones

In Skull and Bones, the crowbar is a very handy tool players will find early on that plays a vital role in scavenging shipwrecks and unlocking valuable treasure chests for loot. If you’re an aspiring pirate searching for one, here’s exactly how to find and level up a crowbar in the game.

In Ubisoft’s thrilling maritime adventure Skull and Bones, players embark on a swashbuckling journey to conquer the seas and become legendary pirates. This involves looking for various treasures and going on deep-sea adventures.

After surviving the game’s initial fight sequence, you’ll find yourself on a tiny raft and as you make your way to land you will find a spot at the bottom of a sinking ship that requires a crowbar to enter. This is supposed to be a location you’re meant to come back to after acquiring the crowbar.

That being said, here is all you need to know about where to find the crowbar in the game.

How to find the crowbar in Skull and Bones

Complete the initial contract to acquire the crowbar.

To obtain the crowbar in Skull and Bones, you must first complete the initial contract “A Pirate’s Deal” offered by the Pirate Chief Officer on the West Island. Unlike traditional story missions, contracts serve as objectives that propel players forward in their pirate adventures.

The first contract involves sailing through the wreckage of the Exeter and disembarking onto the adjacent island. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

  1. Sail through the wreckage of the Exeter and disembark onto the nearby island. Here, players will encounter the Pirate Chief Officer, who will assign them the task of retrieving goods lost in the wreck.
  2. Return to your ship and sail to the north of the wreck, which is situated to the left as you sail away from the island. The goods will be floating around the rocks in barrels. Salvage the goods by pressing the indicated button as you approach. Beware of sharks in this area.
  3. Once you have retrieved the goods, go back to the Pirate Chief Officer on the island. Upon successful completion of the task, you will be rewarded with the crowbar.

The crowbar is automatically equipped when scavenging shipwrecks. Look for the “Force Open” prompt at the bottom of the screen to initiate the Salvaging mini-game.

In the mini-game, the crowbar will swing and players must hit the marked button in order to stop it. Both green and yellow areas will work, but if you hit the green one, you’ll get a better boost.

It’s worth noting that if you happen to miss the targeted area you can try two more times, but after three strikes, the salvaging will stop.

How to level up the crowbar in Skull and Bones

Like other tools in Skull and Bones, the crowbar can be upgraded to enhance its functionality and unlock new exploration opportunities. To level up the crowbar, all you have to do is:

  • Locate a Blacksmith vendor, with one of the most accessible ones being located in Sainte-Anne.
  • Upgrading the crowbar requires acquiring the relevant blueprint and gathering the necessary resources. Blueprints can be obtained by completing contracts, and missions, or purchasing them from vendors.
  • Once you have the blueprint and resources, follow the instructions provided by the Blacksmith to craft the upgraded version of the crowbar.
