Fortnite is a runaway success on PC and consoles and a mobile version made its way on to iOS. Finally, Android users will get their chance to download Fortnite on mobile.

Fortnite mobile is avoiding the Google Play Store, meaning downloading the game is a little different than what Android users are accustomed to.
There is also a licensing deal that Fortnite mobile users will have to deal with. Thanks to an exclusivity agreement with Samsung, not everyone will be able to play Fortnite Android at the same time.
However, all Android users who want to download Fortnite can take the steps to prepare right now.

How to Download Fortnite on Android
This section will show users without Samsung devices how to download Fortnite. Samsung users can skip to the next section.
Step 1 – Sign up for the Waiting List
Sign in to your Epic account and sign up for the Android waiting list. The Fortnite waiting list can be found on Epic’s official website.
Step 2 – Download the Fortnite Installer
After you sign up on the waiting list, Epic will send you an email with a download link to the Fortnite Installer.
You must open this email up on the device you plan to play Fortnite on.
Step 3 – Download Fortnite
Run the Fortnite Installer and it will begin to download the Android version of Fortnite to your device.
Since it is not a part of the Play Store, you may have to go into your settings to allow the Installer to download to your device. Before you give it the ok, double check to make sure the installer is from Epic’s official email only, the Fortnite Installer does not exist in the Play Store.
Once the Fortnite Installer is allowed to modify your device, Fortnite will install.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to play Fortnite on your device just yet, but your phone is ready to go for when Epic gives access to non-Samsung users.

How to Download Fortnite on a Samsung Galaxy Android Device
The following devices are allowed to play Fortnite on Android right away:
- Galaxy Note 9
- Galaxy S9
- Galaxy S9 Plus
- Galaxy Note 8
- Galaxy S8
- Galaxy S8 Plus
- Galaxy S7
- Galaxy S7 Edge
- Galaxy Tab S4

Step 1 – Open the Game Launcher App
Samsung users can open the Game Launcher app on their device and will see the Fortnite Installer. Click on it to install the app, this is not the game yet.
Step 2 – Launch the Fortnite Installer
Once the Fortnite Installer is downloaded, open it up and you will see the option to download Fortnite on Android.
Step 3 – Play Fortnite!
Once the installer does its job, Fortnite will be ready to play on your Galaxy device.
