The Epic Games team aren’t afraid to change up the meta within their popular battle royale title, Fortnite.

Since launching in November 2017, the map has expanded from just a handful of locations to over 20, and the same can be said for weapons and equipment, with more ways to kill your opponent than ever before.

On Tuesday, June 19th the Stink Bomb was introduced to the game in content update V.4.4.

Lasting for 9 seconds, the Stink Bomb deals 10 points of damage per second and can be found in floor loot, chests and vending machines.

After the servers went down for just an hour to allow for the content update, players were quick to get back online and test our the new throwable.

The small plume of gas doesn’t have a huge radius, but as one user tested on himself, it certainly cause sets in panic when you step into it.

The real test for Epic Games will come when the professional players and streamers begin to use the Stink Bomb in crucial situations.

The developers of Fortnite aren’t afraid to remove an item or adjust it if they feel it’s over powered (like the Guided Missile), so all eyes will be focused on the community to see how they react.
