Crazy Fortnite glitch prevents players from being able to build

A strange new glitch in Fortnite stops players from being able to build or have their teammates build around them.

Since the release of Fortnite’s Season 7 on December 6, there have been plenty of new glitches and bugs discovered in-game but this fresh building error might just be the most incredible one we’ve seen yet.

The glitch acts like the recently-vaulted Infinity Blade, destroying structures in one fell swoop. However, the only difference here is that there is no blade and there is no swoop. Just a fatal error whilst trying to construct walls and floors.

It was showcased during symfuhny’s stream on December 18. The streamer was engaged in a firefight with an opposing player, but was able to get the jump on them as they fell, allowing him to find a kill. However, when his duo partner ‘Dark’ attempted to build around him so that they could heal, the structure was immediately deleted.

Symfuhny then attempted to build by himself but saw his walls and floors immediately destroyed by a blue flash – similar to the one that would appear around players who wielded the Infinity Blade. The incredibly powerful sword was recently-vaulted by Epic Games but has been appearing in-game for some players.

It’s unknown whether or not this glitch is related to the Infinity Blade but its striking similarity suggests that it just well may be.

It is not named in the list of known glitches and bugs from the recent game update but its appearance on Symfuhny’s stream should draw some eyes to the error. We’ll have to wait and see if Epic acknowledges the issue and rolls out a hotfix.
