Final Fantasy XIV players have lashed out at Square Enix by comparing figurine quality and price to Honkai Star Rail’s Tingyun figure.

There’s no game quite like Final Fantasy XIV. From the fantastic world to the lovable cast of characters, players absolutely fall head over heels for the MMO. Players can spend hours upon hours in the MMO, leveling up, doing dungeons or even just chilling out with their friends.

Of course with many players being such fans of the franchise, there are plenty of ways to show your appreciation for the MMO. That includes the annual fan festivals Square Enix holds, visiting the FFXIV cafe in Japan, and grabbing pieces of merch for your favorite character.

Unfortunately, one avenue of merchandise has rubbed fans the wrong way, with figurines from FFXIV being thrashed by the player base, especially after Honkai Star Rail released one.

FFXIV players are not too happy with the quality and the pricing of figurines being sold by Square Enix. One player compared a recently released Honkai Star Rail figurine of Tingyun, which retailed at $30, with the Emet Selch figurine released by Square Enix.

“One of these figures is $85 and the other is $30,” the fan argued.

“SE really needs to license their stuff. Their quality is garbage” another agreed.

The user went on to compare this figurine with the more expensive $400 Zodiark and Hydaelyn figurine, arguing that it still looked better.

Hydaelyn and Zodiark FigurePlayers have compared the Tingyun figurine to this one.

“SE’s figures are an embarrassment. It’s insane how low quality literally everything they pump out is.” one user complained.

Players have requested that Square Enix outsource their figurines, which would hopefully raise their quality.

“That’s what happens when you don’t outsource… I swear to god, I have no idea why they refuse to do it in the first place.”
